Development and Investment Bank of Türkiye and ITFC Sign USD 100 Million Financing Agreement to Support Food-Security Companies and Earthquake-Affected Businesses

Operating for Türkiye’s sustainable development since its establishment, Development and Investment Bank of Türkiye continues to enter into international resource agreements in areas such as renewable energy, food security, employment, infrastructure and combating climate change, in line with its development objectives. The USD 100 million resource secured from ITFC under a guarantee from the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Treasury and Finance aims to improve the efficiency of food-sector supply chains disrupted by factors such as climate change and earthquakes, and to contribute to financing the working-capital needs of agro-industrial and food-sector businesses across Türkiye for their import and export activities.

Commenting on the agreement, TKYB CEO İbrahim Öztop said: “As a Bank, we have continued to support the region with all our strength since the first day of the tragic earthquake disaster in our country. This financing secured from ITFC is another step in our efforts to address the challenges created by the earthquakes and the continuing need for food security. We thank ITFC for this financing, which will contribute to our country’s development and growth, and hope that our cooperation will continue to expand.”

ITFC CEO Eng. Hani Salem Sonbol said: “We are deeply honoured to join hands with the Republic of Türkiye and Development and Investment Bank of Türkiye in this partnership, which marks a new chapter for ITFC’s activities in Türkiye. This cooperation reinforces our shared commitment to economic development and enables us to expand our support for economic actors in both the private and public sectors, contributing to Türkiye’s recovery and growth by addressing critical needs such as food security.”
